Le naufrage du pétrolier ERIKA, événement-catastrophe survenu en 1999, témoigne des dérives de notre société en ces fin de siècle et de millénaire, et en est l'un des symboles. Parce que l'Art ne peut être absent des réseaux de réflexion qui se contruisent autour de ce thème dans son sens le plus large (diktat des multinationales, manipulations et pollutions de toutes sortes...), un collectif d'artistes appelle à la création d'une oeuvre multimédia en réseau : l'Artel Noir.

Réunir "1000 artistes contre la marée noire", afin de constituer l'un des plus importants archivages d'oeuvres d'art conçues autour de ces thèmes est un projet qui, en regard des générations futures, se veut international, solidaire et participatif en réponse au mépris et l'arrogance des multinationales de l'argent.

Black Artel The catastrophe of the oil-tanker ERIKA in 1999 shows the disorder of our society at the end of this century. Because Art cannot be left out of the networks of solidarity and reflexion which are building around this topic, a group of artists linked to the Cell of civil information Radiophare decided the creation of a multi-media network project called « BLACK ARTEL ».
The challenge is to collect " 1000 artists against the oil slick ". This project, for the respect of the future generations, wants to be world-wide, interdependent and participatif in reply to the contempt and the arrogance of multinational enterprises and their money concerns.
